In my work I reimagine and recontextualize mythological objects and symbols to explore the relationship between fiction, social structures, history, and experience. I start by collecting images from antiquity looking for symbols that are enduring, meaning they have undergone a long process of recycling, rebirth, mutation, and fetishization. The images that I work with allows for the reexamination of fiction and storytelling and how it aided in building our social ideals and identity. The objects and images coupled with readymade materials are edited in essence to evoke visceral reactions alluding to our survival. The result are speculative objects that speak to ritual, myth, and power.
